Students at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland invented an edible"Tastee Tape" designed to keep burritos and similar foods fromspilling their contents during mealtime. The chemical andbiomolecular engineering students said they aimed to use science to make theirlunches less messy.The team members said they are not yet disclosing theirsecret formula because they are in the process of obtaining a patent.Theypromise that “all its ingredients are safe to consume, are food grade, and arecommon food and dietary additives.”The tape's adhesive is activated by moistureand is designed to remain in place while cooking.
