Hero Dog Saves 87-Year-Old Woman

A 4-year-old black Lab named Midnight is being credited with saving anelderly neighbor's life after he discovered her lying in the snow during lastweek's dangerous cold snap in Minnesota.

According to Tim Curfman, his alert pup found their 87-year-old neighborwhen temperatures were hovering at about one degree below zero. Curfman andMidnight were taking out the garbage when he noticed that his dog was actingstrange.

"She had her ears perked up looking at me. She doesn’t normally dothat. Sometimes you get that feeling something’s up,.

Curfman followed the 4-year-old Lab out to a spot on the other side of thehouse where they discovered their elderly neighbor, Noreen, who had fallen inthe snow while trying to fill a bird feeder.

"We figured she was out there at least a half an hour," saidCurfman. "She could not have gotten up because her gloves had gotten wetand she didn’t have enough strength in her fingers to push herself up. Nothingaround the corner to get up and get a hold of either."

Fortunately, Noreen did not have any serious injuries and was able to avoidfrostbite.
