(Hero) Dog Alerts Family Of House Fire.... But Doesn'tMake it Out
A dog did all he could tosave his family from a fire in their Florida home. He even gave his life.
The fire started in the attic of the home at 2 in the morning. Thefire alarm only went off briefly, but "Zippy," a Jack RussellTerrier, took over.
He went back and forth. He was from bed to bed, barking as loudly aspossible to wake everyone up.
The family was able to get out of the home in time, but Zippy didn't makeit. One of the family members said, "The floor in theliving room was all on fire so there was nowhere for him to run out. There wasnowhere for him to go.”
By the time firefighters found Zippy, it was too late. The smoke had gotten tohim.
Fire officials said the fire spread from the attic but they don’t know exactlyhow it started.
