A rescue cat in North Carolina is going viral because people think it looks like Baby Yoda from"The Mandalorian" tv show, and they're not wrong.
The cat, nicknamed "Yoda Cat" for now, was brought into the Cabarrus Animal Hospital in Kannapolis, N.C., earlier this month by a rescue as an injured stray. Jana Aviles, a veterinarian assistant and avid"Star Wars" fan, quickly noticed the cat's resemblance to the cute,big-eared Yoda Baby of the Disney+ series and shared a photo of the little lady on Facebook, reports Good Morning America.
The post quickly racked up 4,500 shares and 3,900 comments with people from all over the country wanting to know about the little lady. Theres cue organization plans to adopt Yoda Cat out once she's all healed up, and they already have plenty of Jedis looking to take her home.
"This is the perfect example of how animal welfare advocates come together to help our animal friends," said Humane Society of RowanCounty President Jane Hartness. "Yoda Cat was ready for help so she allowed a Humane Society of Rowan County volunteer to catch her and transport her to Cabarrus Animal Hospital. She is now ready for love and care in a permanent home."
Get well soon and enjoy your new home, Yoda Cat!
