AlexTrebek's Wardrobe Has Been Donated To The Homeless
Alex Trebek's suits, dress shirts, ties and more havebeen donated by the show and the Trebek family to The Doe Fund, a nonprofitorganization that provides paid transitional work, housing, educationalopportunities, counseling, and career training to people with histories of homelessness,incarceration, and substance abuse.The clothing will be distributed to thoseparticipating in the organization's "Ready, Willing and Able" reentryprogram to be worn on job interviews."During his last day on set, Alexextolled the virtues of everyone opening up their hands and their hearts tothose who are suffering," said Mike Richards, the executive producer ofJeopardy. "Donating his wardrobe to those who are working to rebuild theirlives is the perfect way to begin to honor that last request."The garmentsinclude 14 suits, 58 dress shirts, 300 ties, 9 sport coats, 14 sweaters and 9pairs of dress shoes."We are so grateful for Jeopardy! and the Trebekfamily's commitment to lifting up the most vulnerable among us," saidHarriet McDonald, President of The Doe Fund. "The men in our careertraining programs are always in need of professional attire, so they can shinein their job interviews and work with confidence once they're hired. Thisdonation alleviates the obstacle of not having appropriate clothing."
