This Exists... A 2-Foot-Tall Squirrel

The photos were captured by camera traps and state officials say the animalis a fox squirrel that was likely 26 inches tall. They think the squirrelweighs about 3 pounds. That’s about a foot taller than a beagle andtwice the size of the more common gray squirrels.

Fox squirrels are found in the dense pine-oak forests of southeastern NorthCarolina. 

Fox squirrels are only “occasionally” seen by people, and those sightings aretypically in the sandhills and Coastal Plain.
