One of the videos show the notorious 2004 "Tic Tac” incident thatwas recorded over the Pacific Ocean. A second video was captured offthe coast of Jacksonville, Florida, in 2015.
Several months after those videos were published, an additional video wasreleased from the 2015 incident, which features a navy pilot saying,“What the f—k is that thing?”
In a statement yesterday, the Department of Defense said the videos werereleased after a "thorough review" which determined that theunclassified videos “does not reveal any sensitive capabilities orsystems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military airspace incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.”
DOD officials said they released the videos “in order to clear up anymisconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has beencirculating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos.”
They are still classifying the aerial phenomena in the videos as“unidentified.”
