(Cool, Or Creepy?)... Elon Musk Says Tesla is Buildinga 'Friendly' Humanoid Robot For 'Boring, Repetitive and Dangerous' Work

Elon Musk said that Tesla is building a humanoid robot, and will probablyhave a prototype next year.
Musk explained, "It's basically going to start dealing with workthat is boring, repetitive and dangerous. What is the work that peoplewould least like to do?"Musk did not say if it would be sold or for howmuch. The robot will have a screen positioned where a human face would be todisplay "useful information."Musk said the robot would have a"profound" impact on the economy. He said physical work wouldbe a choice in the future, and a universal basic income would be needed.Musk is among the Silicon Valley leaders who have cautioned that technology mayeliminate the jobs of many people, so some humans will need another incomesource.
